Darren Mulligan is the lead vocalist and songwriter of the Christian band We Are Messengers. Since the band’s inception in 2015, We Are Messengers have toured throughout the USA, Europe and beyond. The band has had 11 consecutive Top Ten radio singles, including the #1 hit Come What May, the American Gold Certified song Maybe It’s Ok, and other hits such as Saviour and the newly released, God Be The Glory.
Darren is a passionate Irish man who writes rock and roll anthems and intimate psalms for the lost and broken-hearted to point them to the goodness of God. He grew up in poverty in Ireland and found comfort in music, later giving his life to the Lord at the age of twenty-seven thanks to the persistent love of his wife, Heidi.
Darren recalls his father’s love of music and having to sell his guitar to feed the family. When he finally saved enough money to buy a new one, he gifted it to Darren when he was thirteen.
Darren’s passion is not fame and money but to see the lost come to Christ.
The band’s success did not come without attacks from Satan. In 2017, while touring in the USA, the band’s tour bus burst into flames after crashing into a stationary car. Miraculously, everyone in the band survived, but they lost everything.
Despite the setback, they were determined that nothing would stop them from continuing their mission to reach people for Christ. By God’s grace, the band has gone from strength to strength, reaching millions with their songs of God’s love for His children.
Darren and his band members, Kyle Williams (guitar), Raul Aguilar (bass) and Drew Kerxton (drums), will be touring Australia in January and February 2024 for their ‘Where the Joy Is’ Tour.
